Cleveland miss out on play-offs

MATTHEW Dellavedova’s dream of playing in the NBA play-offs have been dashed, despite Cleveland winning by 22 points against Detroit on Thursday.

Cleveland had its slim play-off hopes ended when Atlanta defeated Boston 105-97.

In what was one of Dellavedova’s best all-round performances, the Maryborough guard scored a double-double.

Dellavedova shot 14 points and dished out a career-hight 12 assists.

It was the third time Dellavedova had scored a double-double in his career.

Dellavedova played 31 minutes off the bench, the most of any other Cleveland player.

He also grabbed four defensive rebounds in the 100-122 win.

Cleveland set a team record in the first half with 26 assists and finished the game with a season-high 41.

At half-time Cleveland led 69-37.

The Cavs have just three games remaining in the regular season, they face Milwaukee on Friday, Boston on Saturday and Brooklyn on Wednesday.
