The two Australian music acts will visit Bendigo on Thursday, April 17, from 5pm, and the gig has been arranged by the City of Greater Bendigo’s FReeZA youth events team Mic Up Productions.

Mic Up Productions team member Perrin Lyle said it was a coup to attract bands of this calibre to Bendigo.

“These bands have been developing a strong name for themselves on national radio and by supporting some of the biggest acts on the Australian and international music scenes,” Mr Lyle said.  

“Headline act British India has recently supported Fall Out Boy’s Australian stadium tour and Hunters and Collectors, Something For Kate, and You Am I as part of the A Day on the Green touring series.

“Calling All Cars has released its much-anticipated album Raise The People and will soon undertake a 23-date national tour. The band’s first single Standing In the Ocean is one of the most played songs on radio station Triple J.

“This will be a great event for people of all ages, as the bands have broad appeal, and will also be an opportunity for local up and coming acts to introduce their sound to a wider audience.

“Bendigo-based bands The Kings Republic and Novango will kick things off, followed by All the Colours who are coming off the back of the Big Day Out Tour and recently released first single Love Like This.”

The gig runs from 5pm to 9pm and people of all ages are welcome to attend.

The FReeZA program is a Victorian government initiative and forms an important part of the city’s Youth Strategy. The program has assisted in offering this fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoking-free event.
