Frankston got out to a 17 point lead in the third quarter but Bendigo managed to peg back the margin in the last quarter, but it wasn’t enough.
The Braves lost 88 to 91.
Bendigo import Zach Atkinson scored a game-high 24 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out two assists in the loss.
He played 35 minutes.
With six minutes remaining in the game Bendigo mounted a fight-back.
Co-captain Kevin Probert shot a three-pointer before Taylor Bell made his two shots from the free-throw line.
Then with 41 seconds left American Dustin Salisbery missed a shot to level the game.
After Braves head coach Ben Harvey called a time-out, Salisbery was fouled bringing him to the free-throw line.
He scored both shots with nine seconds left on the clock.
Salisbery then fouled Frankston's Michael McInnes who also scored his two shots to ice the game.
The Braves will now face rivals Ballarat in round four of the SEABL season on Wednesday night.
