Bendigo's squad will travel to the Melbourne pitch to take on Northern Panthers.
The opening round contest is expected to be a stern test for the Miners as they will be fielding several new players and have not had any match practice since a trial game against Melton on March 15.
Northern won the Division 2A competition last year and thumped Bendigo in an inter-divisional fixture.
It is anticipated that Saturday’s match will be a keenly contested affair as Bendigo lines up against Northern’s Reserves.
Saturday's match is at C.H. Sullivan Memorial Park in Blake Street, Reservoir.
The match kicks off at 1.30pm.
Bendigo's draw for the early rounds in the 2014 season:
April 5: Northern, away. April 12: Boroondara, home. April 26: Eltham, home.
May 3: Ballarat, away. May 10: Maroondah, away. May 17: Northern, home. May 24: Boroondara, away
