One Bendigo sprinter who is sure to make his presence felt in the Bendigo Cup is Matt’s Entity for Bendigo trainer Scott McKenzie.
A winner of 30 of 52 starts, Matt’s Entity has raced three times at Bendigo for two wins and a third and has a sizzling best time of 23.66.
Despite drawing awkwardly in box five for Friday's assignment, Matt’s Entity is the class runner and will start a short priced favourite in the sixth event.
The main danger appears to be another local in Flaming Diva who has recently returned to racing after having a litter and clocked a fast 23.83 in a clearance trial on March 14 before failing at Sandown last start.
Recent high-priced purchase Deadly Vane resumes from a let-up in race seven and looks the runner to beat as he heads towards a tilt at the Bendigo Cup.
The winner of eight from 15 starts, including a flying 25.57 victory in a heat of the Warragul Cup in January, Deadly Vane has not raced since late February but is sure to be primed to impress first up for trainer Brooke Ennis.
Racing continues again at Bendigo on Sunday afternoon before the 10th Anniversary Gold Rush Carnival kicks off next Thursday and continues with eight race meetings in eleven days, culminating in a terrific night of greyhound racing and off course activities on Easter Sunday.
