I don't have children but even I know it would be very difficult.
That is the situation that a lot parents who had children at BRIT Beginners childcare centre are being faced with and it's not fair.
Families received a letter from Bendigo TAFE late last year announcing the centre would close on March 31.
The letter offered little explanation as to the reason why, leaving parents in the dark and with the hard task of breaking the bad news to their children.
Where was Bendigo TAFE's explanation to the children?
It was of course their childcare centre.
I think parent Nicole Richter put it best when she said, "there was no thought for the children".
She went on to say, "that is the most disappointing thing - they did not think about the children at all".
Bendigo TAFE is an education institution and its main aim should be to serve the community.
It should be a place where people feel valued.
The TAFE should have sat down with families and treated them with the respect they so clearly deserved.
That is the most disappointing thing - they did not think about the children at all.
