A BENDIGO woman was over the moon to win a dream wedding package at the "I do I do" exposition this weekend, which attracted nearly 1000 people looking for inspiration for their big day.
The dream wedding giveaway included vouchers for everything from L12 Photography to dance lessons and the wedding cake, to transfer in a limousine and wedding planning sessions.
Bride-to-be Kyrstee Knox, who got engaged in January, said it was a complete surprise as she never wins anything.
“I was shocked; I didn’t know what to do with myself,” she said.
“It was a nice girls' day. Three of us are engaged and we thought we would go and check it out.
“We didn’t even think to put in our entries until I was sat next to someone and they said 'make sure you fill it out' and funnily enough I won.
“But it is very lovely.
“I got a gift pack with lots of vouchers and a bottle of wine, it is beautiful.
“I haven’t even started planning, so it is very lucky.
"We will probably get married in November next year but we have nothing in concrete. It is all very fresh.
“It is all going to be such a massive help.”
The I do I do Wedding Expo, held at the Bendigo Exhibition Centre on Sunday, is central Victoria’s largest wedding expo all under one roof.
Event organiser Melinda Keighran said it was a fantastic day.
“We had lots of positive feedback,” she said.
“People could walk around at a slow pace and talk to the suppliers and spend time with them one on one.
“It was very relaxed.
“Vintage and rustic were very heavily featured. And there was a lot of floral. Floral is very big at the moment.
“The fashion parade was divine, and there were some amazing dresses.
“There was something for everyone from the mother of the bride to the little boys.
“I think visually it was one of the best presented expos that we have done.
“People came from all around the region.
“I couldn’t have been happier.”
