From April 5 the association will be taking names of anyone who wants to join the Chinese section of the torchlight and gala parade.
About 1000 people are needed for the annual event which sees Chinese dragons weaving through the streets of Bendigo with performing artists from Melbourne and Sydney.
Males in particular, are needed to carry banners and be dragon legs.
Bendigo Chinese Association president Charles Lougoon said the event relied on community support.
“Without the support of sponsors, volunteers, visiting Chinese Associations and of course the Bendigo community we would not be able to put on such a spectacle," he said.
“Can you imagine the Easter Parade without the Chinese Section?”
