Netball Victoria will again field two teams - the Fury and the Flames - in the elite competition that begins in July.
Forty-five of the state's leading young players are in the training squad, with the final team lists to be announced on April 24.
Strachan, 26, was co-captain of the Victorian Fury side that went through last year's ANL competition undefeated, having also played with the franchise in 2009 and 2012 and spending a year at the Canberra Darters in 2011.
This season, she made her debut for the Melbourne Vixens in the ANZ Championships.
Watson, meanwhile, was recently named in the Australian 21-under squad on the back of her outstanding performance at the national championships in Adelaide, where her Victorian team finished runner-up.
After playing much of her junior career for Sandhurst, Watson has been a regular member of the strong City West Falcons line-up in the Victorian Netball League.
She made the cut for the Flames team in its inaugural season last year.
Victoria's training squad also contains 2013 Flames defender Kelly Haynes, older sister of GWS Giants footballer Nick Haynes.
The Peninsula Waves VNL co-captain has strong links to Bendigo - her mum Shelley (nee Endersby) grew up in the city and her grandmother and other relatives still live here.
The squad will train together at Maribyrnong College this Friday.
