MANDURANG batsman Matt Giri and West Bendigo all-rounder Ken Bell tied to win the Emu Valley Cricket Association Player of the Year at the recent awards night.

Giri and Bell both polled 13 votes to win the award.
Giri was the EVCA’s standout batsman this season.
He smashed a league best 640 runs at an average of 64.0.
Giri’s season included centuries against Sedgwick in round two (107) and Axe Creek (173) in the final round.
Veteran Bell topped West Bendigo’s batting with 511 runs at an average of 46.5, which included a highest score of 96 against Sedgwick.
Bell also took three wickets for the Redbacks, who bowed out of the premiership race in the semi-finals.
The W.F. Dreschler Champion Player Award was won by Emu Creek all-rounder Simon Marwood with 182.6 points.
