Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 crashed into a remote area of the southern Indian Ocean, killing all 239 people on board, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak has announced.
“This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites,” Mr Najib told a media briefing.
"It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean,” he said, fighting back tears.

STAR Golden Square recruit Corey Jones will undergo surgery on Tuesday to have a plate inserted into his fractured cheekbone.
The former North Melbourne forward suffered the injury when he clashed heads with a Shepparton United opponent in a practice match at MyJet Oval on Saturday.

Authorities have a total of 108 names of people reported missing or unaccounted for after a landslide in the northwestern US state of Washington, a local emergency official said Monday.
The confirmed death toll remains at eight after the massive landslide slammed "like a freight train" into a mountainside community, said Snohomish County emergency management chief John Pennington.
