The event opens on May 3 with the piano competition and culminates with the classical and theatrical dance competition commencing on June 28. 

The Bendigo Advertiser would like to apologise for incorrectly publishing the dates of the event in the March 22 edition. 

This year's event is at Bendigo South East College with the Bendigo Competitions Society and the secondary college working together to enhance the eisteddfod on the Bendigo arts calendar.

Music co-ordinator David Castles said the competition would have a similar format to last year - eight weeks of music events and two weeks of dance performances. 

"Every year is different," he said.  

"It has a real buzz about it."
