League management decided to switch the Knockout Cup from its traditional post-season to a pre-season slot.
BASL has also re-introduced a finals series for the championship.
Operations manager for the BASL, Brock Rogers is excited about the new format.
“With the introduction of a final series in 2014, it means that we can use the Knockout Cup as a pre-season competition to ensure that players are playing as many matches as possible," Rogers said.
“A finals series will mean more home and away matches will be played that have significance to the overall competition.
"Clubs will not just be fighting for first on the ladder, but to finish in the top four or even for the right to host a final."
The Knockout Cup grand final will be played on Sunday, April 13.
Round one in the championship will be played on April 26 and 27.
Finals in the championship kick off Sunday, August 31.
The BASL senior grand finals will be played at the Tom Flood Sports Centre on Sunday, Septembr 14.
The junior season and MiniRoos competitions will start on April 26.
Grand finals for juniors will be on September 13 at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve.
