The celebration was part of the Bendigo Festival of Cultures, organised by the Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Service.
More than 300 students put on a multicultural display with singing and dancing.
A Multicultural Forum is on at the La Trobe Visual Arts Centre in View Street today, from midday while the Multicultural Dinner Dance on tonight is fully booked.
On Sunday the event will finish with a Family Fun Day at Sidney Myer Place from 10am to 4pm.
The event includes a market, youth and talent contest, workshops and performances from the best acts across the region.
LCMS general manager Noemi Cummings said the event was family-friendly and completely free.
