A fair challenge for a 12-year-old.
Turns out it was a piece of cake for Mitch who strode from Epsom to Kangaroo Flat on Sunday ahead of time and raised more than $25,000 with his Autie Walk in the process.
What an incredible performance.
Firstly, that a young man would have such determination to make a difference to his community that he would accept such a challenge.
Secondly, that he not only completed the challenge but did so with such success.
Mitch's efforts have done much to raise awareness about the need for an autism resource centre in Bendigo.
Importantly, there was no shortage of politicians walking with him along the way on Sunday.
Mitch's efforts have done much to raise awareness about the need for an autism resource centre in Bendigo.
Such interest from high profile figures goes well for attracting the much-needed political clout that will be essential to get an autism resource centre not only up and running but secured in the community.
Now, it also seems Mitch's Autie Walk could well become a national event.
What a brilliant achievement, young man.
