Co-owner- manager Amber Lyons will shave her head and hairless husband Heath, who has grown and bleached his hair, will dye it pink.
“He has to keep it that way for at least a couple of weeks because it’s no fun if he shaves it off straight away!” Mrs Lyons said.
The hair shaving and colouring will take place at 11am.
Raffle tickets are on sale for $2 with four items of gold and gemstone jewellery worth $2400 up for grabs.
First prize is an 8 karat gold Burmese ruby and diamond ring worth $1300.
The raffle will be drawn by Cr Peter Cox just before the Dahlia and Arts procession at noon.
Face painting and helium balloons will be available children.
There will also be many giveaways worth up to $800 including items donated by suppliers and local businesses.
A gold coin donation will give people the chance to win a giveaway such as an amethyst 9 karat necklace worth $308 donated by Gray Owl Gems, a sterling silver and freshwater pearl necklace and earrings worth $197donated by Duraflex, and a sterling silver and kyanite necklace donated by Heath Lyons jewellers.
Mrs Lyons said she and Heath were taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave for the first time because of both their experiences with leukemia and cancer.
“I have relatives who have had leukemia and Heath had cancer last year,” she said.
“Heath’s best friend also got cancer twice.
“It’s such a horrible thing and we want to do anything we can to raise money and this is the first event of the year.”
The business also plans to raise funds for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute.
The World’s Greatest Shave is out the front of Heath Lyons Jewellers and Salon Allura, 40-42 High street, Eaglehawk, from 10:30am to12:30pm.
