COURTNEY Keast was passionate about organ donation.
That was no surprise to those who knew the Kyneton 12-year-old well - she loved helping others.
Courtney spoke with her mum Jodie about her desire to become an organ donor.
Tragically, two days later Courtney sustained serious head injuries in a boating accident at Lake Eppalock.
Three days later she lost her fight for life in the Royal Children's Hospital.
Courtney's organs have now saved four lives - two young girls, a young boy and a grandmother.
It's such a wonderful gift from a young girl who showed amazing maturity and clearly placed an enormously high value on the welfare of others.
Courtney's wish to help others through organ donation has been granted.
It's such a wonderful gift from a young girl who showed amazing maturity and clearly placed an enormously high value on the welfare of others.
Now the Bendigo Advertiser has joined with the Keast family to raise greater awareness of organ donation in Courtney's honour.
Courtney's Quest is simple - to find 1532 new organ donors in 30 days - one for every Australian presently on the transplant waiting list.
It's a big total in such a short time, but we will leave the final word to Courtney... ''why wouldn't you''.
