Owner Ian Warhurst said Raz was still on a drip but he was looking a lot better than this morning.
"He is getting through by sheer guts and determination I think," he said.
"If he keeps going at this rate of recovery we might be able to take him home on Sunday.
"His back end is not working too good and his legs.
"He will take a lot of looking after and he is still on a drip.
"But I am feeling a lot better about it than before."
EARLIER: THE 22-year-old Maltese Raz who was attacked by two Staffies on Wednesday is still on life support in the vets.
Owner Ian Warhurst said it is just a waiting game.
"He is still not looking wonderful," he said.
"I went this morning and he was trying to sit up a little bit.
"They couldn't get any food down him last night and he had a bad attack of diarrhea.
"He is still on a drip; it is the only thing keeping him going.
"He has had nothing to eat since Tuesday night before it happened.
"His eyes are glazed which doesn't look good.
"I am just living in hope.
"It is pretty tough."
