The match is a tribute to Shaun Bergin, a talented midfielder who played for South Bendigo and Balwyn.
Bergin died after being injured playing for the Balwyn Tigers in September, 2011.
He also played for the Bendigo Bank Pioneers in the AFL Victoria TAC Cup under-18s competition and was a rookie-list player with Hawthorn.
This Saturday's play between the Bloods and Tigers starts with the reserves at 10am.
The main game is at noon at the reserve off Midland Highway.
A new-look South Bendigo senior team is being coached by Jeff Brennan this season. He previously coached South Bendigo in 1998 and '99.
South Bendigo Football Netball Club will host a barbecue and have drinks available at the QEO social rooms after the main match.
The Tigers build-up to the season included a weekend training camp at Sorrento.
Balwyn football manager Jo Tregear said seniors captain Rennie Gilchrist spoke to the entire group about Shaun - particularly for the benefit of the new players - who he was, what had happened, the impact he had on our club and why we have a 23rd man with us every time we take the field.
