One woman, 79, has died and another, 84, has been airlifted to hospital after a car crash in Harcourt North.
The two women were travelling in a red Toyota Corolla when it collided with a dual cab utility at the intersection of the Calder Freeway and Fogarty's Gap Road.
Acting Senior Sergeant Della Nihill said the car failed to give way while crossing the Calder Freeway.

A POLICE media spokeswoman has confirmed one person involved in the crash at Harcourt North is deceased.
UPDATE 3.49PM:
EMERGENCY services have freed a passenger from a car involved in the crash.
They are working on removing the driver who is still trapped.
An air ambulance is on scene.
The car was involved in a collision with a dual cab utility.
CFA, police, ambulance and SES are on scene.
UPDATE 3.32PM:
AN Ambulance Victoria spokewoman said six people were involved in the crash.
She said one person was in a critical condition, another person was in a serious condition, and four other people had seatbelt injuries.

Emergency services are working to save the life of an elderly woman injured in a two car crash on the Calder Freeway at Harcourt North.
Bendigo Police said several units are at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Calder Freeway and Fogarty's Gap Road.
