This time it's not a ruckman, a centre half-forward or a star midfielder - it's an acting role.
The Gold have a new mascot, which is yet to be named, and they want someone with energy and fun to fill the role.
"This will be a paid job for seven home games at the QEO,'' Gold chairman Tim Dickson said.
"It's something that we want to have some fun with.
"Jenny's Early Learning Centre and Bendigo Bank have jumped on board to sponsor the mascot.
"What we plan to do is have people audition for the mascot job in front of the children at Jenny's Early Learning Centre."
The club will also run a naming competition for the mascot through the Bendigo Advertiser.
"We want a name that's creative, fun and with links to the Bendigo Gold,'' Dickson said.

Meanwhile, the Gold will play their first practice match this Saturday against Footscray at Epsom-Huntly Recreation Reserve.
The Gold also plays Frankston at Strathfieldsaye on March 29.
