More than 60 crews will take part in the championships.
Officer in Charge of the Bendigo Fire Station Bruce Quarrier said the championships are more than just about competition.
"They are an opportunity to network, meet new people, share experiences and learn from one another," he said.
“The championships are also a great form of training.”
All events involve basic firefighting equipment – hoses, hydrants, couplings and branches.
There are 31 individual and team events throughout the weekend.
The discipline contest commences at 8.30am at Beischer Park in Strathdale before the event relocates to the RF Turner Track at Weeroona Oval at 11am.
The Championship weekend will include a torchlight procession through central Bendigo, including Mollison St, Williamson St and Lyttleton Terrace, before concluding at the rear of the fire station.
On Friday the CFA volunteers enjoyed a beer and barbecue.
