This weekend, the school is holding an arts open to showcase the work by 10 artists who live in Fryerstown or have strong ties to the community.
The Scratching the Surface exhibition was officially opened on Wednesday by Dr Chris McAuliffe, the former Director of the Ian Potter Museum of Art ahead of the three-day event which will see artist Julie Millowick running free daily workshops.
School facilities coordinator Denise Button said it was an opportunity to showcase the school as a community hub.
“It is a fabulous opportunity to see our gallery at its best – and to show how the school can undergo another transformation,” she said.
