The central Victorian towns are among the 11 sites to be named for construction of NBN Co’s fixed wireless network.
More than 2450 homes and businesses will benefit from the recent rollout.
Construction has now commenced at sites in central Victoria, the Wimmera, Gippsland and North-East Victoria, following a planning and consultation phase.
NBN Co spokeswoman Corrie Withers said the fixed wireless service would benefit farmers, residents and businesses in the country.
“The fixed wireless service is designed to provide access to internet speeds and bandwidth that many in the big cities currently take for granted," she said.
"The NBN (opens) up opportunities for local farms, businesses and the region."
It is expected to take 12 months before the NBN is available in these towns.
The service will offer wholesale speeds of 25 megabits per second and upload speeds of up to five megabits per second.
