TUESDAY: A Strathdale house has been destroyed after a suspicious fire about 3.30am on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Constable Tony Roberts from the Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit said the house on James Street would have to be demolished because the roof had partially collapsed.
"The house fire is being treated as suspicious," he said.
A neighbour said she was woken to the sound of fire sirens.
"I could hear all the emergency services," she said.
"I didn't get up or anything.
"I could not get back to sleep though.
"I did not think it was worth getting up because it was clear that emergency services had it under control."
A CFA spokesman said firefighters were called to the scene about 3.30am.
