His mother Robyn says her son is a collector and often comes home with rocks and other bits and bobs he’s picked up on his walk home from school.
But last Thursday, February 20, Nicholas presented his mother with a treasure worth a little more than his usual discoveries: a man's wedding ring.
Nicholas had been at Brennan Park Swimming Pool for his PE class when he spotted the ring in the grass.
“It was really cold so I didn’t go in [the pool],” Nicholas says.
“I was on the grass and I saw it in the sun.
“I wasn’t sure what it was so I brought it home and showed mum and dad and they said it was a wedding ring.”
The Gambles, who are from Mitiamo, went on to place a classified notice about the find in Tuesday’s Bendigo Advertiser, in the hope the owner would come forward.
But they have not as yet received any calls to claim the ring.
Mrs Gamble says the ring is silver and has an inscription on the inside.
She said if someone wants to claim it they should call her on 0429043209 and tell her what the inscription says.
