TWO of Bendigo’s biggest mental health awareness events have combined forces.
The Black Dog Ride has teamed up with the Suicide Prevention Awareness Network (SPAN) walk, for their events on March 23.
Both groups will leave from the same spot with as many as 800 people expected to either ride or walk to promote awareness of depression and suicide prevention.
SPAN spokesperson Alannah McGregor said it was a good opportunity to come together for the same outcome.
Black Dog Ride coordinator Ric Raftis said it made perfect sense to combine their efforts.
“Our messages are extremely similar. If you can’t ride on the day, you can always walk," he said.
All riders must register online by March 16 at www.blackdogride.com.au.
It comes as Hume & Iser hardware has donated a gazebo to the SPAN walk.
Ms McGregor said preparations for this years' event were going great.
