POLICE would like two people who waved down a police van on Tuesday to contact the Bendigo Station.
Detective Senior Constable Glen Fisher said a man and woman alerted police to a car fire at a residence on Gladstone Street that destroyed the carport and 20 per cent of the house.
"The pair waved the divvy van down," he said.
"We did not get their contact details and we would like to speak to them in relation to the fire."
Detective Senior Sergeant Fisher said police had also reviewed CCTV footage and would like to speak to two men who were in the vicinity of the Queens Arms Hotel on Russell Street at 12.09am.
"Further we would like to speak to a man who was near the Queens Arms at 12.30am and another man who was in the vicinity at 12.36am," he said.
