THE City of Greater Bendigo has responded to criticism about a bus stop in Junortoun.
Eric Francis put a bus stop near McIvor Forest Drive and Trotting Terrace in the spotlight after witnessing four students standing in the table drain beside the road.
Mr Francis told the Bendigo Advertiser there was no other place for the students to stand and called on something to be done.
City of Greater Bendigo engineering and public space manager Brett Martini said a concrete slab had since been installed at "a more appropriate location", about 150 metres east of the existing bus stop.
"Arrangements have been made for the bus stop sign to be relocated to this slab and pull off area so that the bus can stop at the new location," he said.
"This is expected to occur in the next two weeks."
Mr Francis has welcomed the news.
"That's really good," he said.
"I'm glad they're doing something straight away, it's good."
