"They had to call an ambulance," Ms Langley said.
"They had four fire trucks here and it went for an hour and a bit."
Ms Langley said after spotting the flames she instantly ran to her sons who are 7 and 8.
"We just ran out over to the other side of the street," she said.
"A police car was going past as it happened so they ended up alerting everyone and four fire trucks came.
"The car door is open so they suspect it's deliberate."
Ms Langley said the fire had spread to the house which she is renting.
"It's totaled," she said.
"That lounge is completely gone, it's not liveable."
Ms Langley said she had lived in the house for about six months.
UPDATE 8.20am: Resident Carla Langley fled the home with her two young sons.
A neighbour opened their home to them for the night.
"I woke up at 1am and looked out the window and saw the carport and car on fire," she said.
More to come.
EARLIER: THE Arson Squad will investigate a suspicious fire that left a car burnt out, and damaged a carport and house in Bendigo on Tuesday.
Bendigo Police Sergeant Tony Kekich said police were called to a fire on Gladstone Street about 1.15am.
"We are treating it as suspicious," he said.
Police are calling for witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Gladstone and Russel Street area last night or early this morning.
"There is writing on the pavement, on Russell Street which is about 50 metres away from the house," Sergeant Tony Kekich said.
"It says, 'F**k off, F.B.'
"The writing and the fire may be connected."
Bendigo CFA senior station officer John Lane said 20 per cent of the house was damaged by the fire.
"Three units took 15 minutes to get the fire under control," he said.
