The Bendigo East Bowling Club barefoot bowls competition saw 108 people participate, with all funds going to the Kristy Thomson appeal.
Tournament director Steve Fuller said the event was part of the club's efforts to contribute to the community.
"Part of our brief is to be community-minded," he said.
Bowlers were in teams of three, consisting of one experienced player and two novices.
The top four teams went on to play a finals round, with the winning teams being awarded prizes.
Each player paid $10 to partake and extra funds came from raffle ticket sales.
First-time bowler Darren Horne said he was enjoying the event very much.
"It's interesting; there's a lot to learn," he said.
"I'll probably be back."
At the time of going to press proceeds of the night had not been counted.
