Only one result is guaranteed heading into Saturday's day two of round 12 - the penultimate round of the home and away season.
The only game that made a start last Saturday was the clash between Strathfieldsaye and Golden Square at Tannery Lane.
The game is one of only two that has no bearing on the finals race, with Square well on top of the Jets after a dominant batting performance last week.
Having been sent in, Golden Square will defend its score of 7-306, built on the back of half-centuries from captain Tim Wood (82), John Lalor (79) and the in-form Jason Johnson (58 n.o.).
However, while a result is assured at Tannery Lane, the other four matches are now scheduled for ordinary conditions games.
Apart from the Sandhurst v Kangaroo Flat game at Advanced Landscape Oval, the other three rain-affected matches all have implications on the finals.
Which begs the question of how Strathdale, Bendigo United, Eaglehawk, White Hills and Huntly-North - who are all separated by six points from second to sixth - approach Saturday?
Do they push for a win and the six points through a "sporting declaration", but at the same time risk losing and getting no points, or will they be content to settle for three points for a draw?
An interesting day looms, particularly at Bell Oval for Strathdale (2nd) and Hunty-North Epsom (6th) and KWD Oval for White Hills (5th) and Bendigo United (3rd).
• Strathfieldsaye 0-0 v Golden Square 7-306; Strathdale v Huntly; White Hills v Bendigo United; Bendigo v Eaglehawk; Sandhurst v Kangaroo Flat.
