BENDIGO-raised lawn bowler Nathan Wilson has the chance to follow in his brother's footsteps and win the men’s singles at the Australian Open on Thursday.
Wilson won his way through to Thursday’s final by defeating New South Wales’ state representative Ray Pearse 21-15 in their semi-final at Darebin on Wednesday.
Wilson - who plays his club bowls for Essendon - will take on Brett Wilkie in the final. Wilkie beat Mark Ryan 21-12 in their semi-final contest.
Wilson’s brother, Aaron, won last year’s Australian Open men’s singles title.
Thursday’s final is scheduled to start at 6pm.
