Wilson won his way through to Thursday’s final by defeating New South Wales’ state representative Ray Pearse 21-15 in their semi-final at Darebin on Wednesday.
Wilson - who plays his club bowls for Essendon - will take on Brett Wilkie in the final. Wilkie beat Mark Ryan 21-12 in their semi-final contest.
Wilson’s brother, Aaron, won last year’s Australian Open men’s singles title.
Thursday’s final is scheduled to start at 6pm.
