"The Victorian Coalition Government continues to invest record levels of funding for Victoria Police since coming to office," the spokesperson said.
"The 2013-14 Budget of $2.3 billion in output funding provides the largest budget in history for Victoria Police and represents an 8.3 per cent increase on the 2012-13 Budget ... currently, there are more than 1200 additional police protecting the community than when the government took office in November 2010.
"This represents the largest single law enforcement recruitment exercise in Victoria’s history."
