An amendment before council details changes to the planning scheme that, if adopted, will allow the expansion and redevelopment of the supermarket.
The land affected by the amendment is 13 and 17 Chauncey Street and 30 Playne Street, Heathcote, which is currently zoned general residential.
The amendment proposes to rezone the land to commercial one zone and remove the neighbourhood character overlay.
The application includes a permit for the sale of packaged liquor, development of a supermarket and retail premises and associated car parking and signage.
City Director of Planning and Development Prue Mansfield said the session would be informal and people will be encouraged to ask questions about the proposal.
Council planning staff and representatives of the developer will attend the session, at the Heathcote RSL hall from 5pm.
