Junior and senior players, umpires, scorers, coaches and club members will pay tribute to the 11-year-old who was brutally killed by his father at cricket training on Wednesday.
Bendigo and District Cricket Association board member Travis Harling said the circumstances surrounding Luke's death were tragic and had rocked the cricket community.
"The board thought it was a fantastic idea to take the opportunity, as a cricket fraternity, to pay its respects," he said.
"It was a such a tragic event.
"I think it is probably just a small bit of goodwill that the cricket association can offer to such a sad story."
Mr Harling said it was up to individual clubs to choose whether they wore armbands but said he thought a majority of them would.
"I think we will be surprised at how many will support it," he said.
"It's not a big ask.
"I think everyone will support it on the basis of it being such a tragic and sad story that is linked to the game of cricket."
Kangaroo Flat Cricket Club president Shane Harling said the entire club would wear black armbands in memory of Luke.
"As a parent when you go to cricket, you don't expect things like this to happen," he said.
"We will wear armbands as a mark of respect for the poor kid.
"It's such a shocking tragedy we don't like talking about it."
