Senior Constable Rob Bennett from Bendigo Police said the man was riding a motorbike along Edwards Road, heading in the direction of La Trobe University.
A car coming from the opposite direction, which was turning right into the entrance of Strath Village, failed to give way, and the two vehicles collided.
A grey Mercedes-Benz, which was about to turn onto Edwards Road from Strath Village, had to stop suddenly, but was not impacted.
Senior Constable Bennett said the motorbike rider had complained of a sore knee.
The motorbike rider was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
He said the driver of the car, a black Holden Commodore, was "a bit shaken, but fine".
He said the car driver, a 36-year-old man, would be would be charged with failing to give right.
EARLIER: PARAMEDICS have been called to a collision involving two cars and a motorcycle out the front of the Strath Village Shopping Centre.
Emergency crews are on scene of the accident in Edwards Road, Kennington.
The incident happened about 12.30pm.
