Call for witnesses after Bright Street fires

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after four fires were lit in Bright Street, Eaglehawk on Thursday evening.

Police say two trees were lit outside residences, there was another fire on the nature strip in front of Eaglehawk Secondary College and another in a garden at the school.

The fires were about 500 meters apart.

Detective Senior Constable Michael Thompson said police wanted to speak to the owner of a dark-coloured commodore.

"It was spotted in the area and might be related, we're not sure," he said.

"It had green p-plates."

Police believe all fires were linked.

The incidents occurred about 4.45pm.

Anyone with information should phone Bendigo Police on 5448 1300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
