Players from across the region are taking part in the representative competition which runs until the end of March.
Round one saw BFNL take on LVFNL in the first match in the open division.
LVNL sharp shooters Laura Spence and Cara Bastian got off to a great start, however BFNL managed to peg back the lead.
BFNL attaackers Marli Roberts and Rachel Mackenzie scored 18 goals between them in the second half to help secure the 39 to 28 win. The second match between HDFNL and North Central was a much tighter affair.
A goal or two separated the teams for most of the match.
In the last quarter, HDFNL got the upper hand with both Rebecca Smith and Paige Tuohey dominating in the ring.
The final score was HDFNL 36 to North Central 27.
In the under-17 competition, LVFNL took on the girls from North Central.
The North Central team started strong, with a six goal margin at quarter time.
LVFNL slowly bridged the gap over the next two quarters, however North Central managed to hold on to win 27 to 24.
The BFNL stormed ahead to win their match against the HDFNL.
The match was set up by Abby Ryan and Georgia Bolton, the pair shot 13 goals to three in the first quarter.
The final score was BFNL 41 to HDFNL 11.
