We've been warned: It's extreme

BE WARNED - fire chiefs have declared this weekend will present the most extreme fire risk to our community so far this summer.

Total Fire Bans have been imposed for Saturday and Sunday with a spell of hot, dry days creating some of the most severe conditions since 2009.

Forecast strong winds associated with a change on Sunday morning that will not deliver rain are being described as an 'additional hazard'.

So, the onus is now on our community.

It's vital everyone takes all precautions this weekend to ensure the safety of all communities.

Too many fires have been started by machinery being used on dangerous days this summer.

Too many fires remain 'suspicious' in their origin.

Fire authorities have delivered a clear mandate for the community on two fronts this summer.

If you see a fire report it immediately as the 'hit it early, hit it hard' philosophy has proven successful to date.

If you see someone acting suspiciously - report them to the proper authorities.

Everyone has a role to play in keeping our community safe this weekend.
