Trager wrote and recorded the track in memory of Blake Gordon-Cooke from Wedderburn.
The track was released on iTunes last weekend with the CD to be launched on Monday.
Money from the sales will go to HeartKids.
"It's been predominately exposed in Bendigo so it's probably not going to hit the charts at this stage but we're happy," Trager said.
"We've probably sold around about the 250-mark.
"The response has been really positive."
HeartKids Victoria support manager Tracy Stanley thanked Trager and Blake's parents Diane and Paull for their support.
Ms Stanley said the Gordon-Cookes had demonstrated incredible strength.
"They are an absolute inspiration," she said.
"While Blake was with us they were just the most amazing dedicated parents and since Blake's death they're doing every last thing they can to honour Blake's memory.
"Blake had a big impact on all of us and his mum and dad have just continued to share that legacy."
