The BFNL board will meet at Gisborne with the Magpies' plight heading a long agenda.
The board made it clear to all BFNL clubs last year that each club needed to field three football teams and five netball teams to compete in 2014.
Before Christmas playing stocks at Maryborough were low, but the club is confident it will have enough footballers to field senior and reserve grade teams.
However, the under-18s remain a major problem with the Magpies still trying to recruit players to ensure they have enough to field a full squad.
Despite the fact the season is only eight weeks away, it appears the Magpies will be given more time to get their under-18s in order.
The BFNL board will also discuss the applications for this year's inter-league coaching position.
Jeff Brennan, who is now coaching South Bendigo, has stepped down after leading the BFNL from 2009-2013.
The BFNL plays Gippsland on May 24.
