Rowlatt will be racing at the 200m and 400m in the under-17s division at next weekend's Athletics Victoria junior championships at Lake Stadium.
The 16-year-old from Bendigo Harriers won bronze in the under-18s 200m and 400m at last month's Victoria Country titles in Ballarat.
He teamed with Blake Pryse, Connor Cudmore and Josh Powell to win the open 4 x 400m relay.
The 400m is Rowlatt's favourite. "It's the distance I run the best so far at the moment," said the year 11 student at Bendigo Senior Secondary College.
Training sessions are with long-time athletics coach, John Burke OAM.
Throughout his athletics career, Rowlatt has gained tips from Burke and Neil Macdonald.
Rowlatt competed in Little Athletics, but took a break.
Toward the end of year seven at Bendigo South East College, he became interested in track racing once again.
His biggest supporters are parents Joanne and Phil, and his younger sister, Caitlin.
He runs the boundary in AFL Central Victoria league matches.
Rowlatt has qualified for the under-17s 400m at the Athletics Australia junior championships to be run on March 12-17 in Sydney.
