Held in Takapuna in New Zealand, Beattie will compete against sailors from Germany, America and the Netherlands.
Beattie said he was excited about having the opportunity to test his skills against world-renowned athletes.
“I am looking forward to it,” he said.
“It will be a high quality field.”
Beattie says fellow Bendigo sailor Glenn Ashby is the red-hot favourite to win the event.
Ashby competed with Team New Zealand in last year’s America’s Cup.
However, Beattie is also in good form.
Last week he won the Australian Formula 18 Catamaran national title in Frankston with crew member Jamie Leitner.
Beattie said the pair had been working together for the past three years.
“It was nice to win the national championships,” he said.
“We have come third a few times and we are just relieved to have won.
“We have come close a few times, we have made some silly mistakes, but now we finally got our names on the trophy.”
The A-Class Catamaran World Championships begin on February 9.
