UPDATE, 4.55PM: A Bendigo Health spokesman said the man had been discharged from hospital.
A MAN had a lucky escape after a car rollover on the Calder Highway at Big Hill.
Emergency crews were called to the single vehicle collision about 3.30pm.
Leading Senior Constable Todd Deary said the p-plate driver had no visible injuries but was taken to Bendigo Health for a check up.
"He's been coming along the Calder Highway here, he's been distracted and the vehicle has veered into the median strip," he said.
"All four wheels have gone into the dirt, he's lost control of the vehicle and, by the time he's realised he's had to recover the vehicle, it's too late and he's just a passenger.
"It's shot across the road into a very deep ditch."
