I hope everyone had a great Australia Day.
For Australia Day over here, I was lucky enough to spend the day with another Aussie - Alex - who works with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Alex's wife made an awesome homemade meat pie.
I took over some ANZAC biscuits for dessert which they all liked.
Alex has had a lot of experience in the AFL with the Brisbane Lions and he's also worked for USA Skiing, so it is always good to hear a few stories about how those athletes train.
This week was a tough one on the court for the Cavaliers.
We had one win against Milwaukee, but three losses against Dallas, Chicago and Phoenix.
A few people have asked how I like playing for Cleveland.
I love it - everyone in the organisation is first class - the coaches, training staff and we even have a chef at the training facility.
From what the other boys say and from what I saw in my pre-draft workouts - we definitely have one of the best training facilities in the league.
We also have some of the best home fans - there are always a lot of people at games and they make a lot of noise.
People around Cleveland tell me that they love the Cavs and wish me the best of luck. It is always nice to know the city is behind you.
After being on the road for a while, it has been great to be home for this stretch of games.
I got myself a new blender, a Vitamix.
It’s been great, I love to make smoothies.
I put a wide range of things in them - spinach, kale, carrots, blueberries, blackberries, honey, chia seeds, bananas.
The weather has turned colder again - we are about to experience another “Polar Vortex”.
I am not fully sure what that is, but for me it means to stay inside and keep warm.
It’s currently -16 Celsius. While it is this cold, there is usually a lot of snow on the roads.
To keep the roads clear and safe to drive on, there are lots of trucks that drop salt and utes that have have a plough on the front to clear the snow.
The salt helps melt the snow already on the road and also helps stop fresh snow from building up.
Finally, congratulations to Kyrie Irving who was named as a starter for the eastern conference in the upcoming All-Star Game.
Thanks everyone for the support, I appreciate it. Have a great week.
