TWO education graduates have scored jobs at Camp Hill Primary School.
Rhylee Elliott completed her education degree at La Trobe University last year and will take on a class of grade 3 students while Ryan Gow will teach grade 5.
Ms Elliott said she was lucky to have found a job straight out of university, as most of her friends were struggling to find work.
"I am very excited," she said.
"Lots of my friends have had to take on emergency relief work because they are having trouble finding employment."
Ms Elliott attended Kennington Primary School and then Girton Grammar.
She said she had always known she wanted to be a teacher.
"I have done a lot of part-time work with children," she said.
"I have been a nanny and done lots of babysitting.
"I was also a part-time swim instructor."
She said she was not nervous about her first day as a teacher.
"The staff at Camp Hill Primary School are really supportive," she said.
"I know if I have a question or need help they will support me.
"It is a great school and I am really happy to be here."

Mr Gow graduated from La Trobe University Bendigo in 2010 and taught overseas in London and America.
He said he was looking forward to starting at Camp Hill Primary School.
"I can't wait," he said.
"It is going to be great.
"Ever since I was a little kid I have wanted to be a teacher."
Mr Gow said his experience overseas had put him in good stead for his teaching role at the school.
He said the school was a friendly community and he was excited to be part of it.
"I love the fact that it is a big community," he said.
"It has a great feel to it.
"The staff are really friendly and the parents come up to you and say hello."
Principal Leonie Roberts said the school was looking forward to both teachers starting work.
"They have both demonstrated a caring and compassionate approach to students," she said.
"We are very excited."
Ms Roberts said both teachers would be mentored throughout the year.
She said they would take part in the Victoria Institute of Teaching registry process to become registered teachers.
