During the recent heatwave in Victoria where temperatures exceeded 41 degrees on four consecutive days, a total of 53 children were rescued after being left unattended in a car.
Tests have found that even on a 29-degree day, the inside of a car can reach 44 degrees within 10 minutes and 60 degrees within 20 minutes.
The Kidsafe Hot Car graphic has already been shared more than one hundred times on Facebook by emergency services.
