Domino's hold up, charges laid

A BARMAH man was charged and remanded in custody on Monday morning after an armed hold up at an Echuca pizza shop on Sunday night.

Sergeant David O'Dea said the man, 28, allegedly entered a Domino's Pizza on Ogilvie Avenue about 9.40pm.

"He threatened a store owner and one staff member with a knife, and has stolen cash," he said.

Police arrested the man soon after midnight.

Police said he faced an out-of-sessions court hearing yesterday and will face court in Echuca today.

Senior Sergeant John Dalton said police were happy with the overall behaviour of the public on Australia Day.
