PICNICKERS flocked to Mount Macedon's Forest Glade gardens on Sunday for the annual Midsumma Australia Day picnic.
The day is part of the Midsumma Festival, which celebrates queer culture.
Melbourne Rainbow Band president and event organiser Rachael Bean said about 120 people attended the festival.
She said the event raised about $1200 and the money would be divided between the Melbourne Rainbow Band and Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus.
"It went really well," she said.
"It was a day of fun.
"We had people from all over Melbourne and also from local towns."
Ms Bean said this was the second time the Melbourne Rainbow Band and Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus had run the event.
She said Joy FM organised the event previously.
Ms Bean said she was confident it would run again next year.
